Talking about redesigning all circulating coins in 2026?
If so can you give a brief rundown of the article.
I hate this idea.
I believe the article is on page 16.

I hope I'm still around. If so, I hope I'm not a babbling old man and still enjoying this hobby!

Who knows, they might have injection molded plastic coins by then. They are cheaper to make.
THAT would require a change in design!
But it's more likely to be no coins and notes at all, and only crypto currency, or credit cards, or an app on your 'phone, that will be accepted instead.

As long as they don't go all modern artsy like the nickel I love the idea especially for the dime with is LONG overdue for something exciting. Quote: Who knows, they might have injection molded plastic coins by then. They are cheaper to make.

There's a 0 percent chance either of those things are happening in the USA in the next century if not several centuries and plastic coins will almost certainly never happen.

They're kind of cool as a novelty, but not something I would want to use. Aside from the vending machine/parking meter issues and everything else such as public disgust such a switch would cause, no world reserve currency would ever put out a form of money that would be so easy to counterfeit

I'm hoping the do a good job. It would be nice if they went back to something a little more classic and stop changing the reverses every year.
since I'm sounding older than I am ...... "Stay off my yard"!

I know I was deliberately being a bit 'tongue in cheek' with the plastic coins, but plastic banknotes around the World are much more common these days.

Very true many have and a polymer note isn't out of the question. Those have had their own issues with prolific counterfeiting though and truth be told I'm not sure which style note is actually easier to counterfeit

Not sure when it would happen (be it ten years, a hundred, or more), but I can say the US would certainly go cashless before it would ever have plastic coins.

I'm with the squirrel on this one, our nations most beautiful money utilized allegorical figures (IMHO).
