I was trying to get pictures of my slabed 1910 LWC. The slab is scratched up on the reverse so I was trying to angle it to see a clearer pictures, then I noticed what looked like vbd in the same location? I'll try to get better pics but this is what I have right now.

No. This has been debated a few years back. In order for the dies to be re-used, the letters would have been polished off probably in 1909. The edge of the die would have been reduced on that area weakening the stems and probably the USA as well. But nothing has been found before to confirmed/dismissed this that I know of.

It's not anything you would notice straight on, like I said the back of the slab is pretty scratched up, so it was the angle of the picture that revealed what appears as the VBD .. there is in fact a lot of die polishing in that same area. I dont know, I wish I could look at it outside the slab.

Hey Coinfrog, are you saying I have old eyes. Ha ha, ok yes they are old. I would imagine if most people saw that on their coin they would ask around about the probability of a die not being polished enough that from an angle some of it shows. Possible? Yes..probable..no.

Petespocket55 he was kind enough to instruct me on how to submit my coin. How awesome is that!

Errers and Varietys, what do you mean " I dont think so"?

Best of luck with the submission Rabbithole1. It looks like some thing to these old eyes.

It certainly makes sense the mint would have repurposed those unused VDB reverse dies from 1909 instead of chucking them.

I'm guessing the original VDB reverse dies would have been quickly altered after the change in the law, and if so, there should probably be identical 1909 versions of this example if in fact it is a left-over reverse die. To re-submit this for TPG evaluation is a waste of money, imo.

I sent it off today! I made sure to call PCGS prior to sending it to make sure I had all the right boxes checked. Regardless of the outcome I'm still very thankful to Mr. Weinberg email in regards to submitting the coin. #10084;
