I am trying to find out if this coin is genuine. It is silver, weighing 43 grams and is 33 mm wide. What should I be looking for to determine if ìt is real or fake?

This is one of the most copied coin, we see at least one or two a month here from really bad cast copies to half way decent looking examples. A genuine example of this coin is worth more than $100,000 which would indicate that they are not common.

Can you say how you came about it?

Your coin is most likely not genuine, but one of the better looking fakes. I would like to see a clearer picture of the reverse and one of the edge.

These were a inheritance from my grandfather, who was in Greece during the war.
