1971-D Kennedy Half Dollar. Error Or PSD?

I came across this 1971D Kennedy half dollar today. There is something at the base of the "I" in "In God". This does not look like PSD to me because the I appears to be intact. Also, the object next to the I is raised, but the surrounding area is not gouged. If anyone can help me identify this, I would greatly appreciate it!

Maybe a die chip or the I took a hit/scrape and the metal got pushed over to the right.
