The attached photo is not terrific but enlarged it looked good enough to see the imperfection. I took a look through the noted errors for 1943 pennies and didn't notice this in the list. Any comments in regard to the coin would be appreciated. I'm still wet behind the ears with this new addiction to coins, so be gentle. If I see in any comments requesting a better photo I will get a clearer picture.

Not the greatest pics.
Looks like damage, rather than an error.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

I think post-mint damage as well .. it looks like something displaced portions of the 9 as well.

This photo shows the C quite a bit clearer. From the replies it would seem that the general consensus is that this is circulation damage rather than a error. All comments are appreciated, knowledge is a good thing.
