I just found out that the 50 cent piece was designed by my friends son who was born here in the Soo but now lives in southern ON.
I will have to get him to autograph the set when I see him next. Congrats Darren

Congrats to the designer.

The artwork is very good. On the picture we have all the 'icons' representing coinage in circulation.

Neither he or his parents collect. But they did get this set.

hopefully there was some payment for the design, or it just the acknowledgement that he receives.. I don't care for the oversized designs, and if they were intent to bring in new collector's the price is too high..
