Related to a discussion on another thread with reference to heat damage. Have had this example for several years. Quick glance of the obverse suggests acid, reverse shows classic heat damage. An interesting coin nonetheless.
Yes, I've been split on the cause. Was thinking acid all along, but seeing the rather strong linear wavy effect on the reverse, it looked like some blowtorch examples I've seen. Someone had fun.
