I have a 1983 Lincoln Cent with reverse errors in the memorial columns (split) and lamination errors, it also has what looks like metal wire from the lamination to each corner from the memorial steps. Can you help me to determine what this is?

Thank you

to CCF. Copper plated cents can not have a lamination.

Those are die cracks, common. The coin is a spender.Keep looking though, there is some cool stuff out there to find. Good luck to you.

@sharons25, yes you have a nice example of die cracks coming off the corners of the Lincoln Memorial. These are areas of high stress, and produce a similar pattern as the cracked tar around this metal plate:

I like that example, Spence. Yes, it is a spender unless you just want to keep it as a good example.
