How do you get the detail in the pictures you post? The pictures I am taking are just good enough to see the coin is a nickel not a quarter. Any tips?

If you have an iPhone you can just use that. The pictures actually come out better than a lot of actual cameras will

here is a thread that is very useful for using an iPhone and might work with any camera on a phone.

The pics at this link used to be crystal clear. Somehow they now have a Photobucket water mark on them.

I have used Darth's method - although I never really took the time to perfect the lighting (I use two inexpensive Walmart LED desk lamps that have a diffuser built in), and sure have not put the time into it that he has. But I get pics that serve me.

His are MUCH better than mine.

My phone rests on a stack of books. I just add or take away a book depending on how the coin looks onscreen.
