please let me know what you guys think I have on my hands here. there appears to be 2 circles of pure copper not alloyed into the zinc planchet you can see this along the edges and reverse especially. and there is a ridge that you can feel when you run your finger along the edge where the circle is.

My experience has been that this is a sign of some type of adhesive placed on the surface of the coin. A drop can produce a perfect circle or semi-circle.
this would give you a raised edge and also protect the area underneath from oxidizing (turning brown) like the rest of the coin has.

Try soaking in acetone to remove the adhesive.

ps. Just for grins and yucks, what is the weight of your coin?

To CCF! I agree that it's a stain from Environmental Damage ( PSD).

If you have a scale, please get the weight of your coin.
