I enjoy hunting the two flea markets in Winnipeg. Most of the time nothing but a good walk. However gallivanting around the city with my brother, and I ran into this at Thirsty's Flea Market. Finding a specimen note at a Flea Market was cool. No, I did not buy it, but the seller Ron also had 5 binders of Canadian decimal coins and other World Coins also.

$1500 is insanely high. I just sold a complete 9 piece set (certified too) for not a lot more than that.

$1500 is a ridiculous high price because I bought a graded one for around $220 (including fees/taxes) in a recent auction. Funny, it has the same BA serial number. How is this possible with same serial number? Are there more than one of them?

I believe all specimen notes of the same date+denomination had the exact same serial number. In the Multicolor series, roughly 650 speciment notes were printed/sold of each denomination.

Some specimen notes are kind of rare like the devil's face 1, 20, 100, and 1000 like about 9 notes each while others are just too many through the two BOC archive sales, that is why you can buy the multicolour and bird series for 300 to 500 bucks. I have only seen one journey series specimen note but you take a chance the BOC will have another garage sale.

@Pokermandude, Thanks.

This is my banknote with same prefix:

That Fleas Market seller is really trying to fleece a gullible buyer. No collector with an oz of brain cells will pay even close to $1500 for it.

There are lots of these not graded, the note is borderline worth grading unless near the top of the scale.

$1500! That proves the truth of that expression I hear: "flea market prices". Maybe fleece market is a better term.
