Hey guys,

Here I have a 1955 silver dollar. Certificate ST - 842
Looking on the reverse water line the boat is not touching the water. Has not been noted for Arnprior variety.

Worth sending for upgrades on variety and perhaps a chance at MS65?

That's not an Arnprior, it's a SWL.
Don't see the die crack connecting the T and I.

you have 4 waterlines there, so no arnprior, they look to be short water lines, which isn't listed, but it could be the angle of your picture. as far as grade, by your 1 photo, I am not sure if it is au or ms. not enough detail showing, the photo is overexposed. the $ amount from ms-64, to ms-65 is tenfold. so you would need much better photos..

I see a couple of apparent obverse carbon spots, which is troubling.

Impossible for us to give a grade opinion MS64 to 65 with these pictures.

Take it to a coin dealer and let it be examined with a loupe. Even so, needs to be taken out of the plastic packet for examination, to give a better chance of accurate grading.

The 1955 SWL does appear in the 2012 Charlton's expanded silver dollar section.
It is priced only very slightly higher than the FWL variety.
Took me awhile to remember where I had seen it.

Given the potential extra value of the coin in 65, I would pay ICCS the $10 or $15 even if I thought it only had a small chance of making it.
