I am a new member from Florida. I started collecting pennies and nickels a couple of months ago and I'm having a blast! So far I've found a few interesting nickels from the 1940's while coin roll searching, including a couple of wartime ones. I also have a brother who has a few old coins, including a 1943 P wartime nickel. It has a very interesting color—unlike any of the other nickels I've found. I've listened to various YouTube videos about the 1943 P Wartime nickel but can't seem to figure out if it is one of the transitional error ones I've heard about. I took a picture and will be uploading it-- maybe someone can offer some feedback. I'm so excited to be a part of this community and look forward to interacting with you all. Thanks!

So, here's the 1943 P Wartime Nickel I spoke about in my earlier post. Is there any way of knowing if it is a wartime sliver nickel or a copper nickel? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Your coin has toned. With the silver included in the War Nickels they will tone differently than regular nickels.
