So my wife has been watching me searching through rolls of coins to fill folders for my son, for the last month. Just tonight she magically remembered an old suit case with some coins that her grandmother gave her before she was put into a home. She didn't want some step grandkids to get them when she passed, so she got them. There were 6 folders that she started and wrote, "started by VR in 1961". One folder of 1909 to 1940 LWC was completed in 1972...including a 1909 s, but no 1943 copper. I think it's pretty awesome that I'm filling modern coin folders, for the kid, and his great grandmother has some 100+ year old coins for his collection.

Do not clean your coins!
Have fun. Those folders sometimes are harmful to the backside of the coins.
Not a great place for expensive coins.
They've been there for quite sometime so keep them from humidity and learn more about proper handling and housing them.
and did I mention . . . Do not clean your coins!

To CCF , I would transfer the coins in the folder to an Album the kind that has sliding plastic sleeves so you can see both sides of the coin . Do not touch those coins with your fingers while doing this ,the oils from your fingers can leave fingerprints and other damage to your coins . I sometimes use white cotton gloves .
Enjoy your new collection .
