My coin weighs 26.93 grams on my scale. Is this within standard?

I believe 26.73 grams is standard for a new coin. Others will know if this is within tolerance, but pics will be needed.

to the CCF!
Rest in Peace

It is slightly high, tolerance is .097 so max weight would be 26.827 grams, but a bigger flag is that the 1858 is a proof only dollar.

.
I saw the silver dollar tolerance cited as 0.39 grams on an earlier CCF thread http://goccf.com/t/251134#2113155. Was that for a different dollar type?

As Conder mentioned, it is a proof-only coin with a mintage of only 300. Pics are necessary for authentication first.

The data from that other post is correct EXCEPT for the spec on the dollar coins, which is embarrassing as the infomation came from me back in 2005. Not sure how I messed up that badly, I gave the tolerance as 6 grains or .39 grams, but the only thing that is close to would be the SBA's or golden dollars and it is off even for them they are 5 grains or .3 grams. The tolerances for the Ike dollars was wrong as well, I said 8 grains .52 grams it shold be 14 grains for clad 15.16 grains for 40%, .907 and .984 grams respectively.

The specs on the 412.5 grain 90% silver dollars is 1.5 grains or .097 grams

The coin is almost certainly a fake based on the weight....and the date...

If you believe it's real submit it to ANACS for inexpensive authentication. It's a $10,000 coin if it's real.

I don't think we will get pictures. He made this one post, came back the next day, and hasn't been back since then.
