Hi, little milestone for me I wanted to celebrate in my first cherrypicked variety off the ebay. This double struck flip over has a die clash evident obverse and reverse, moreso on the reverse. This die clash variety pops up every now and again, but to have the double strike probably makes this a rather rare combination.

It's a proud addition to my hoard of the '82s. I don't do the modern 1982 too much because I find a lot more fun in the older stuff, but every now and then something like this pops up and it becomes a fave.

Super nice coin! But I can't see from the photos why it got UNC-Details. Wheel mark? Not sure what that is but maybe that's the way they describe the marks a rolling machine leaves on the end coins? Wondering if they saw the clash and call it damage. If there's no damage on the coin I'd resubmit it for a real grade as that a really nice one.

Don't see the wheel marks, but I do see the die clashes.

Gave this beauty a few minutes under the magnifying glass this evening. I'm left wondering if the "hairlines" that might have earned the wheel marks details are really die polishing lines. To me, they look like they are raised and not incuse from running through a machine. The field above the memorial in particular has lots of faint hairlines, running in multiple directions.

I wish I had a good enough camera to get images to share with ya'll. I think I'll take it to an upcoming show and see if I can get some additional opinions. My gut says NGC might have goofed on this one in giving it the details grade. The die clashes stands out really nice, that's a detail worthy of note on this beauty.
