Would most likely be due to die polishing or possibly a grease-fill.

As Coinfrog said, this is due to die polishing, but it still may be an interesting coin. I see very slight remnants of the FG, but I am wondering if you can get closeups of these areas:

It may be a "floating roof" cent.

The initials are still visable, but barely.

question...

i am aware that the 1969 (no FG seems to a\have a collector
"premium" value...

given that is is merely a die polishing issue (not unlike the 1922 D (no D), why is the 1969 more valuable that any other no FG coin. (i have a 1988 - no FG - wht the initials completely gone). yet the 1988 seems to have no premium value...

PCGS was grading them for a short while and stopped. They are just too common. Someone I knew on another forum was selling them. He sold his first graded batch, then sent in another batch and they were returned as they were no longer slabbing them. I bet buyers of these will be disappointed when they go to sell these.
