Before I post this on ebay o want to make sure this isn't doubling that I am seeing in Lincolns face and the mint mark. This wheat is beautiful, just want to make sure I'm not missing anything :)

Remarkable looking coin. Could we see full pics of both sides, please?

Finially I was able to get both sides under 300, a little less quality but still shows the nice details :)

I don't see any doubling, but the surface texture on this coin, especially the obv is interesting. Struck with rusty dies maybe--or is it damage? I'm not sure.

Reverse grease effects, perhaps, but I'd have to say 66BN - stunning coin. I would have this graded before dumping in on ebay.

Nice sharp strike. The texture is interesting. They did make a small number of matte proofs that year. Maybe one of the Lincoln Cent experts will weigh in . .

Wow, that would be wonderful! I think I will send it in for grading, it's been awhile since I sent anything in. :)

Definitely not a proof, but this clearly deserves TPG grading.

Thank you guys for all the input, as always it's greatly appreciated! I have around 600 wheats that I purchased, all are in folds. Some of them are in excellent shape, some not. I love sitting with my magnifying glass going through wheat cents I've acquired by chance. Nothing more relaxing... :)

I agree that is a lovely example (with character!) that should be submitted to a TPG. As to the surfaces, that is caused by a form of Die Deterioration:

Great photos, Pennylady! Great strike, a good looking coin... its a shame about the grease fill-in in the "AM" on the reverse. Keep up your searching!

The grease-fills are inconsequential on a coin of this caliber.

Thank you guys for all the great information and the words of encouragement! This evening I will be paying my membership fees for PCGS and prepare for a few coins to be sent in, one being a AU if not BU 1909 VDB "Double Die". I have refused to take it out of its vintage wide window flip, but you guys have inspired me to start sending my coins off that I know are worth money. But before I send off the 1909 VDB I am going to take a picture of it and post it on here to show you guys and get your opinion on it. I'm not an expert yet and I'm still learning, so you guys will probly be seeing a lot of me. I have a lot of stuff that I have put up over the last few years due to divorce and other unforeseen issues, and I lost interest in in alot of things. But here lately I have found that the coins keep me busy after work and have that calming affect I used to know... again thank you so much!
