Hi, I found another curious coin that has excited more then any other I've stumbled on. I was curious if this coin was a Re-punched mint-mark, Or just strike doubled.

I noticed doubling at the bottom-right of the coin, But there also appears to be a small amount of doubling at the top of the D. Though I'm not really sure.

I took a photo of the Mint-mark and year, And also of the whole obverse and reverse of the coin in case I missed anything.

Thanks in advance for your help, I've learned more from this website then any other I've been to.

Pretty confident that's post-strike damage as I see no interior doubling and most likely the damage is from a burst bubble.

Because the die may move some when striking the mint mark may cut through the plating. With age it starts to deteriorate. First it rises, then falls because the zinc under it disentigrates and eventually they even fall off.

Nice pictures COOP, Ya got to love what lies beneath the vary vary thin layer of copper plating of our newer cents. Corrosive zinc. What ever ya do don't let yer kids get a hold of one to put in there mouth. I don't know whats worse our cents or china's lead toys. And in 5 years e-bay will have all sorts of new corrosion errors for sale.LOL
