What's up with Mr. Lincoln? So hard to take pictures, so I'll answer the normal questions I know I'll get asked...

Is it a crack? No. It is literally the shape of his nose next to his nose and same with his chin.
As for his neck- I don't know what's going on there.

Is it raised? Yes.

Is it damage? No. Trust me, I can figure that one out-

The reverse is "'normal" as in- nothing extra

It looks like Lincoln's face was printed normally and then it's as if someone took the coin and turned it just a hair and then pressed down over part of his face again, but messed up and didn't align it perfectly the second time.

What's up with this guy?

@embot, for me the clue is on the rim from 10 to 12 o'clock. That damage suggests to me that two high points on Abe's portrait are also damaged--his nose and his chin. I'm curious if there are also marks on the reverse of this coin. The damage to the copper plating seems to have exposed the underlying zinc core in a couple places--his neck and his chin. Those areas are starting to bubble up a little as the zinc is disintegrating.
