Why Keep Canadian Pennies/Nickels - Coin Community Forum

nick271717 New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 10/06/2019 11:56 am Hello I am kind of new to coin roll hunting and so far have only done penny and nickel boxes but whenever I am reading about what dates/coins to keep everyone always says that they pull out the Canadian cents and 5 cents ....why do people keep these if they are not valuable? moxking Rest in Peace United States 17900 Posts	Posted 10/06/2019 1:21 pm I'm not a saver of Canadian unless they have real numismatic value - which isn't often. I have rolls of earlier dated cents and even those really aren't worth messing with. In Minnesota we get A LOT of Canadian. Report this Post to the Staff
oriole Pillar of the Community Canada 5246 Posts	Posted 10/06/2019 1:45 pm There is no particular reason to save the non-numismatic Canada 1 and 5 cent. My LCS sells these for 5 and 10 cents each respectively, and sometimes just deposits them in the bank. Report this Post to the Staff
