Picked up a really good auction lot a couple weeks ago and I have been staring at this 1937 25 cent for a few days trying to figure it out.

Basically it is better in hand than pictures. The denticles are really sharp and and you can really feel the reeding grip your fingertips. It feels like some of the new modern silver proof coins.

I always think when I have a coin this in hand it might be a specimen, but still learning how to identify them. Cariboo has a nice camo pattern on it. I have a simlar 1937 dime with similar toning and sharpness

Anyone have any thoughts?

Oxidation spots would bother me.

Based on the marks/scuffs on the king's face, it doesn't look like a specimen...

Get that coined conserved! Looks like some pretty heavy enviro issues.
1937 coins tend to be very well made and often have sharp edges and well struck devices .
Nice coin if fixed!

Some tarnishing happening. Otherwise the purpleish toning on the background looks nice.
