The pitting might be from extended environmental or concentrated chemical exposure. @e&v's comment about road rash is also good. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 10/13/2019 6:21 pm This one looks more like it was in acid soil for a time. Why not an acid dip? Note the rims. The whole coin looks affected the same. On a liquid dip, the acid attacks three sides of the coin. Top, bottom and edge. Thus the edges thin quicker on the edges. This one looks like a slower acid attack. More of a copper melt coin now. Report this Post to the Staff
