Hello,

I've also got in my collection some consecutive $1.00 and $5.00 old notes. Would anybody know what's their worth?

That depends on what year and condition. Can you post some pictures, or give us the signature combinations.

Davidson, You might look at getting hold of "The Pocketbook Guide to Australian Coins and Banknotes", by Greg Mcdonald. Commonly known to most Aussies as 'Maccas'.

It has listings for all Aust coins & banknotes from 1910 on. The current edition is 15th, with the next due out late this year, probably in December. Cost is $29.95 plus postage.

If you are anywhere near a coin shop, the dealer may be able to get one in for you & save you the postage.

Hi nancyc,

I'm way over the in the pacific. Do you think you can grab a copy for me and post it over. I was wondering what maccas you guys have been refering (other topics) to . If you agree, I'll add an extra $10.00 for posting expense okay?

Davidson, if you can hold off a little, the new edition will be out in a couple of months and will have all the latest releases and prices. It usually comes out Novemberish.

Hi Davidson, I'd be happy to help you acquire a Maccas, but at present we can't communicate directly till you get the 50 posts necessary. I'm not sure how payment could be arranged either.

I had a lady in the US send me a Money Order for $11 and the Bank here wanted a $10 fee to cash it for me. I sent it back to the US & she sent me some coins instead.

I do have PayPal, so funds could be transferred that way if you also have it. Hold off till you get 50 posts & we can make arrangements in a little less public way. Of course, if you decide to hold off till the new Maccas is available later on, that's completely understandable. Cheers, Nancy

Sorry about that latman100 and nancyc. We'll discuss this again when I get to 50 posts. And hey, I'm a Cats supporter. So go cats, kill the hawks. Cheers for now.

Just when I was beginning to like you

I'm a Hawks supporter (wife is a cats fan so going to be a good weekend)and you have no chance tomorrow

Ok, so I am probably going to be eating humble pie tomorrow

Wanna make a bet? Cats win, I will send you something, Hawks win, you send me something. Coin related of course. May have to wait a week or so to fulfill the bet until we can contact each other though.

I have only one thing to say.....Go the Hawks!

Davidson, it just wouldn't be in the spirit of the game if I didn't send you a commiseration prize. If you have been having trouble finding something in particular, let me know and I will see what I can do.

latman100,

Congratulations! The Hawks rules! Alot of unecessary fumbling and missed goals by the cats, one would think the game was kind of rigged. You're not behind it? Heh, heh just joking. Buts it's part of the game of aussie rules. Now, can you tell me what coin you'd be interested in to fulfill our bet? Let me know, okay? I'll be trying to get to 50 posts asap so everything would be within the rules. Cheers mate.

latman100,

Sorry! I didn't mean rigging is part of the game. What I meant was winning and loosing is part of the game. Cheers once again.

Will let you surprise me. Foreign coins are always good, we can work out the details later anyway.

Since we aren't trading/buying/selling and it is a bet, I don't think we are breaking any rules here :)
You can email me s dot leech at optusnet dot com dot au (the dot being . and at being @ and written this way to prevent web crawlers getting my address) and we can sort out details. Let me know what you are looking for as well and I will organise something.

Moderators please remove post if not happy with our arrangements.
