1957 LMC Plating Problem?

Found this 1957 LMC and was wondering if any one came across one with plating problems, it has a crack that runs from side to side through the CENT, thank you for any information

It looks like a planchet issue. The alloy mix may have been wrong causing this lamination error. It's not going to be very valuable because of the overall condition of the coin, but it is an error.

The mint didn't start plating cents until 1982. Before that the coins were Copper, Bronze or Brass, depending on the year that they were made.

Oh, yeah. They did mint a few million zinc plated steel cents in 1943. I almost forgot about those!

Something was rolled onto the stock and left the ragged edge when it started peeling.
