1957 Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Plating Problem?

Yokozuna Pillar of the Community United States 4618 Posts	Posted 10/16/2019 11:22 pm to CCF! It looks like a planchet issue. The alloy mix may have been wrong causing this lamination error. It's not going to be very valuable because of the overall condition of the coin, but it is an error. The mint didn't start plating cents until 1982. Before that the coins were Copper, Bronze or Brass, depending on the year that they were made. Oh, yeah. They did mint a few million zinc plated steel cents in 1943. I almost forgot about those!
