Absolutely the first, 67. But I'm very prejudiced against toning as even beautiful toning damages the surface.

I like mine as close as I can get to just minted.

with moxking on this one, and for the same reasons.

IMO, it makes the '43 better value for money against the catalog value, which does not account for toning, either good or bad.
At anything above MS65, eye appeal means a lot.

Besides,
the bands are more clearly defined on the '43, even if both are FSB.

The uneven toning on the '39D detracts from eye appeal, and thus value, despite the fact that at MS69, the '399D is a very rare coin.

I'm in the '43 camp too.

The '43d - that is a beautiful coin. The toning on the '39d is very distracting to my eye.

Not a fan of the toning. Also it's worth noting the MS67 is RPM-007

I'm taking the 43 also. not a fan of toning especially when its not consistent. over time it tends to darken and look worse. also the 39 does not look FSB to me and the 43 does.

I probably wouldn't buy either too rich for me. But I don't like the MS 69. Just not a fan.
