Hello,

I'm new to coin collecting and coin roll hunting. I found this quarter and thought it looked interesting. I did some research and saw that it's either a double clipped planchet or a fake. I'm not sure which I have. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Real deal, double curved clips:
1. Note the fading of devices on both sides of both affected areas on the coin.
2. Note the ends of the two rims on the edge areas. Great find.

to the CCF!

And welcome to error collecting! That's a really nice first find. I posted a bicentennial quarter with a single clip just a few days ago.

Do you have a scale that weighs very small objects? If you can give us the weight of the coin (in grams if possible) we can calculate the amount of metal that's missing.

ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

The weight will be under. (because of the missing material on the planchet. Are the reeds on the outside edge of the coin. The images don't show that area?
