Hello I am new to coin collecting and have recently found a 1972 Kennedy half dollar that Appears to have a lot of doubling on the back. I have no clue if I should submit to PCGS as They talk about the double obverse but this one is on the reverse. . I would like opinions,. Here are a few images.

Nice doubling, but it is a classic example of MD ( Machine Doubling ) and not a Doubled Die.
Doubled Die on the obverse is called DDO
Doubled Die on the reverse is referred to as DDR

Just click on the words typed in blue to learn further about them.

And to Community.

Machine Doubling happens after the strike, damages the coin most of the time in the same direction on all /some / or hit and miss. Not a doubled die, as a doubled die is formed on the die, thus the term doubled die. Machine Doubling can happen the same way on a doubled die as well. The MD doubled dies, are one not preferred to a variety collector. (I advoid them like the plague) Pass on them it MD is present on a coin I'm thinking about buying. If a coin is graded, the Machine Doubling doesn't affect the grade. But I would never buy a doubled die with MD on them.
