I have a 1900 Morgan dollar that has the "we" in the "in God we trust" that is that is stamped very lightly, not worn down, just light. Is there anything special about it?

The most likely explanation is that this is a "strike through" error. Probably some grease accumulated in the die, filling the word "WE." When it struck the planchet to make the coin, the word was struck very weakly.

This is a "mint error" but typically there is no premium for this type of error.

Thanks for the answers. I have a bunch of coins and no one around here to grade them. Is there an easy way to do this? I am going to ask another question too. 1891 Morgan that the one looks goofy. I am glad you guys are here, I am coin illiterate.

For grading opinions on coins you can post pictures on our "US and World Coin Grading Practice Forum."

Maybe one of our Morgan experts can give an opinion on the 1 in the 1891 you have pictured. It doesn't look odd to me. The toning around the date is a bit unusual, but I've certainly seen stranger toning patterns.

One more thing: welcome to the forum!
