I am curious about what amount of silver other members have found, in total, from roll hunting. I have been searching halves for the past year. My initial goal was to try to amass $500 silver in face value. I recently passed that mark with approximately $300 in 90 percent silver halves and $280 in silver clad halves.
How much have others found?

I've probably found over $500 worth since I started looking eight months ago, although I don't keep a logbook of all of my silver finds. Most of mine would be clad, with probably only $70 or $80 in 90%

I have prolly found about $50-100 over the past 3 months, only searching boxes. Maybe another $50 from customer wrapped.

I attempt to get from 2 to 10 rolls of halves every few weeks. Been doing that for about 30 years or so. For the last 5 years I've only found one Silver. I was thinking of adding a post as to how many 1971 and Bicentennial halves are in the world. That's about all I ever find lately.

Not sure of the total silver count from roll searching, but figure it is roughly $1000 from over 3 years of searching. Also I was a bank teller for 2.5 years, so that helped a little.

ive found around $240 in silver clad, and ~$100 in 90% since I started searching a year ago. Nickels ive found ~$3. I dont really search dimes and quarters that much but ive found a few dozen silver dimes and quarters stuck in coin machines, plus 40% silver ikes and a Peace dollar tellers. And yes being a bank teller helps quite a bit :)

Jeeeeez! Don't take this the wrong way, but do any of you folks have REAL jobs? I mean... my wife works in a bank as a teller and I've got her TRAINED to look for silver and she doesn't bring me anywhere near as much silver as you guys are finding. Are you doing this 24/7 or what?

i dont think anyone will take it the wrong way but does your wife buy boxes of halves and quarters and dimes and search through them? I mean your not gonna see a lot of silver come through a teller line like you will if you order a box.. |unless someone is cashing them in and dont realize what they are

Yeah. Good point. I guess she wouldn't last long in her job if she just stood there opening and pawing through rolls all day! Okay - YOU win! LOL!

My real job is a cashier at a convenience store. ;) Just today, someone paid me with a silver dime.

i started roll hunting almost a year ago (nov. 17th '07), here are my totals: 60 or $15.00 FACE IN 90% QUARTERS 255 or $25.50 FACE IN 90% DIMES 985 or $492.50 FACE IN 90% HALVES 1938 or $969 FACE IN 40% HALVES I've also found 5 War Nickels, 30 Buffalo nickels, 2 40% IKES and a 1991 silver eagle. I've sold most of the 40% over the year to finance more searching. I'll never sell the 90%. I Love this Hobby!
