Rather I think that the pattern of grunge in the bottom part of the number 5 looks like a vertical line. You could potentially give this a plain soak in acetone to see what is revealed (no scrubbing or cleaning though). If it had been re-struck, all the other devices would also show that this event happened. If it were struck twice, it might look like these: So note, not a single device can be transferred on a 'So Called Restrike." Because all other devices would show up as well. Also if it were an over date, well the 1941 hubs were long gone in 1945. It couldn't happen.
