looks like Two coins were fused together at one time with JB weld or something similar and then was pried apart with something sharp. That's just a guess but I feel certain it did not leave the mint looking this way. PSD or PMD IMHO

Quote: It's all raised metal Are you sure that it is metal? We see this sort of thing with the raised material being dried clear glue all the time. You could give it a soak in acetone and see if the raised section comes away from the coin.

It looks like a horse shoe shape . Into not into the metal . I don't agree with the glue theory . Worth having it looked at by a pro hand to eye. I think it's Awesome . Looks Cool .

I could see it leaving the mint like that. Blanks and errors leave the mints all the time.

Quote: Worth having it looked at by a pro hand to eye. I think it's Awesome . Looks Cool . a cool looking coin does not make it an error or a variety. In this case it makes it a cool looking damaged coin. Deloss would you explain how this happened during the minting process. We are all here to learn

It's glue, we've seen thousands of these. Soak it in acetone and it will disappear. Just look closely at the pics, you can quite obviously see right through it. Quote: I could see it leaving the mint like that. Then don't leave us in suspense, explain to us how.

Don't feel bad, like I said, we've seen thousands of them over the years. Just about everyone gets fooled the first time.
