Can't see well with the small pic but the coin appears harshly cleaned. Still not bad for the price.

Hi Murty -

Based on my experience from buying coins on ebay I can say the following:
1. The pictures he posted are far too small to tell the quality of the coin. Did you by chance ask him to send you larger pics?
2. I've never heard of CCGS as a TPGS. Even though they always say "Buy the coin, not the slab"...sometimes it is still nice to see it in one of the bigger named services' slabs.
3. Looks like he's got a decent return policy just in case you are not happy with the purchase!

You should take some pics when you receive it and post them...I'd be interested to see how they look up close.

There is alot of glare on the photos, possibly taken with a flash. The glare may be washing out the detail and causing the coin to be too "bright" giving it the appearance of cleaning. It does not appear to be horribly overgraded, it may be VF30/35, and if it is not cleaned then you got a good deal.

Not just the brightness but also the dirt around the stars scream "cleaned".

Not to be too picky here, but to me "harshly cleaned" implies scrubbed with an abrasive of some sort. I do think the coin is way too bright for the grade & is probably cleaned. The pictures are not detailed enough for me to see the hairlines that I associate with "harshly cleaned".

I would prefer a coin with a more original look. I would also seriously consider this one at that price if it wasn't abrasively cleaned.

I'll be silent on the coin itself, but on that slab-
The printing on the label is very, very low quality. It's been turned out on a low-resolution ink jet old school printer, and using pretty crappy software to boot.
No legitimate company would use this thrift-store grade printing set up. The "CCGS" in the background of the front is just printed on to appear like a holographic image.
The whole package screams "Garage Grading"......although the coin inside might be OK.

I am sure it is just a strange coincidence, but didn't a banished member from this site, try to pump a service called CCGS

Anybody remember the infamous "A New Contender" post

That member was from Indiana...let's just say, he ended up being courtney's cottage from what I could gather...

As far as anything else, and my dealings with him... No Comment.
