It's not a coin that's worthy of grading.
Let's see if you can figure out the grade. Go to
https://www.PCGS.com/photograde/ then click on Nickels and then
Jefferson nickel. Use the photos to judge your coin against the photos.
What would YOU grade your coin?
Then go to
http://www.numismedia.com/rarecoinp...&search7=any Find the date of your coin and then check the value by the grade you gave it in the previous step.
How much do YOU think the coin is worth?
Now, if your coin is worth less than $150, you probably wouldn't want to spend the money to have it graded. If it's worth MORE than $150, you MIGHT want to have it graded. You'll still have a coin that's worth the value by grade, but most collectors will not pay more than that. This is called "Pay for the coin, Not for the slab." It's hard to get both the value of the coin and get back the grading fees (in most cases.)
It takes some time to learn how to grade, but it's part of coin collecting. With practice, you'll be the one on CCF answering other new members questions like this.
Until that time, keep on posting and asking questions. We love to see coins in all grades and we enjoy helping new collectors learn about numismatics.
