So,just as in my last post this was in the coins that I had gotten gave to me. I thought it mighta just been dirty or something, and tried to kinda clean it off without damaging/hurting it in anyway of course.. But, it didn't come off? What're y'alls take about it?

Pretty sure it's environmental damage. You'll find many more like this in pocket change, etc., which won't be limited to nickels, either.

This sort of appearance is usually the result of ground burial.
