Based on the feathers under the left wing, I'm leaning toward a VAM 14. I tried to get a better picture of the ear for confirmation.

The only problem with this being a VAM 14 is that I'm not seeing the doubling that is described.

I was thinking the A1f reverse.

Ok, I think I'm slowly getting it. I may have misread which picture went with which reverse. FWIW, we both picked the same pic, I just attributed it to the wrong VAM. So now, I'm looking at a 12, 16, or 17. I'll do some more looking now.

BGLI: Mine is a pretty simple setup. The first two pics (whole coin pics) are just taken with my Moto phone. There is a really good video on the "Coin Help U" youtube site talking about taking pics with a phone and how to crop it and edit and make it look nice. I generally just do that and can post pics here and on ebay that way. The magnified pics are again taken on my phone using just a simple "digital microscope" app. Sometimes that magnified pics don't turn out out the best (a little fuzzy sometimes). But for the most part if you don't try to magnify the coin too much it will work.

CitationSquirrel,
Did you note Dave700x comment about the "eye"? Pretty much nails it.
