This was the third coin I lost out on. I had it at XF40 or 45. I bid $100 and again one person outbid me by $2.50. Thoughts on grade and problems? Thanks!

Assuming you're talking about ebay, I've seen you mention several times that you narrowly got outbid, that is likely not true.

The bid increment at $100 is $2.50, the winner may have bid $5,000, but he would still only beat you by $2.50.

I misunderstood what you said. Yes, they may have outbid me by a lot, but they still got it for $2.50 more than I was willing to pay which still sucks.

I did not call you a liar, I'm just telling you how it works. You keep saying you just lost by $2.50, $5.00 or whatever and I'm telling you that the reality is you have no idea what the winner bid. Only the winner and ebay does. He could have bid $2M dollars, it will still only show as one increment above your bid for the win. Been that way forever.

yes, I misunderstood what you said. As I said above, they may have outbid me by a lot, but they still bought the coin for $2.50 more than what I was willing to pay, which is frustrating.

I wouldn't have bid on it at all with all that rim damage.
EF45 tops, details.

Low AU sharpness, might not be a details coin but too dark for me.

AU-50 details. Eye appeal is terrible. This is what they look like when they sit in a leather pouch for 70 or 80 years.

doesn't sound right that you keep losing these by just a couple $. would make me think something is going on with the seller wanting a higher price and possibly a ghost bid going on.

@bobby says it exactly right - no one has any idea how how high any winning bidder would be willing to go.

It's a details coin with low eye appeal so I wouldn't lose any sleep over this one.
