Well the multi hubbed coins have a taller profile. The single squeeze dies have a lower profile. The 1973 cents have the highest rims. So I'm not sure which you are referring to?

Proof coins are double struck. Business strikes are just struck once. So that is why they have a stronger look on the devices:

What does it weigh?
I strongly doubt someone would go to the trouble of counterfeiting a modern day cent.
It could be plated.

Gold plated over a nickel plating. This is often done because the nickel plating provides an oxide free surface that the gold binds to better.

With two different layers of plating,would it not show a weight difference?
