Please help id this coin issue... can you tell me if this is an error coin or has this coin just gone through some damage of sort? I have placed a regular coin next to it for side to side comparison.

Hello! And to the CCF!

Your coin looks like something has removed the very thin copper layer exposing the zinc core. I see some copper left on the high spots. That with the overall condition of the coin makes me think it's just Post Strike Damage PSD. I've seen error cents with the copper layer missing from the mint, but I think it would be impossible to prove on this coin.

I have one of those strange 1992 pennies... it weighs the same as normal ones but it's same size as a nickel.

Especially if it weighs the same, it has had to undergone some sort of post mint damage to enlarge it "to the size of a nickel."
and
to the CCF!
