It looks like your coin has "zinc rot" and maybe a few other problems as well. When the copper plating is broken the zinc core starts to corrode. It's just Post Strike Damage or PSD. The coin is only worth 1¢. Sorry.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Anything done to alter a coin, lowers the value to a collector. So when altered, it doesn't increase the value. It remains at face value. Best to spend the junk coins and keep the better ones you get. (if buying a coin that is a variety, you don't want to pay extra for a problem coin. Split plating is something to check fore before your buy. Other things also to avoid are carbon spots on copper coins, finger prints, bent coins, altered coins that have been plated over problems, reprocessed coins. Keep the best, spend the rest. If a coin I find during searching, like the example above comes under my glass, it is spent before it is even looked at. Why waste our time on a coin that no one would buy? That my motto. I have collectors send me rolls of coins from Philly mint. And they are appreciated. We get so few of them here. When we do get them, the look like they came from a war zone. So hanging out here, you will know which ones to save and which ones to pass on. (we can't keep them all) Thanks again for these that I receive.
