Australian sixpence 19mm, the obverse legend suggests 1943 as a possible date.
1943 wartime steel Cent also 19mm. (Zinc coated steel)
In 1943, the San Francisco Mint struck .925 sterling silver sixpences for Australia, with a milled edge.
Therefore the opportunity exists to make a numismatic inspired shed job fantasy, by joining two half coins.
I VERY SERIOUSLY doubt that is is mule. Look closely for evidence of an edge join. A 1943 .925 sterling silver American Cent would look much brighter than this one does. Dissimilar metals should make the edge join look fairly obvious.
Spence is right.
It certainly seems to be the case, with what looks like a seam for an edge join, in front of the King's face.
