I recently became a Millennium Pillar when I passed 1000 posts, and strangely enough it happened on my birthday, so I'm running a contest to celebrate.
I received a consignment of coins and it had a pretty amazing journey. It travelled to another continent on it's way to me so here are the contest rules:
1. Guess how many kilometers it travelled from the sender's Post Office to me.
2. Whoever get closest to the distance without going over will be declared the winner.
3. The contest is open to everyone with 50 or more posts.
4. The prize is a full set of 26 x 2001 Australian Coins from circulation, all different. 2001 was Australia's Centenary of Federation, so there were a lot more coins than usual that year.
5. One entry per person per day.
6. Contest will run until someone guesses the exact distance OR when I log in about 6AM on 14th October, (that will be around 4 pm on 13th Oct Forum time) and declare the winner.
Full List of prize coins:
1 x $2 Standard Issue
1 x $1 Centenary of Federation 1 x $1 International Year of the Volunteer
1 x 50¢ Queensland 1 x 50¢ Northern Territory 1 x 50¢ Western Australia 1 x 50¢ Australian Capital Territory 1 x 50¢ New South Wales 1 x 50¢ Tasmania 1 x 50¢ Norfolk Island 1 x 50¢ Victoria 1 x 50¢ South Australia 1 x 50¢ Coat of Arms
1 x 20¢ Queensland 1 x 20¢ Northern Territory 1 x 20¢ Western Australia 1 x 20¢ Australian Capital Territory 1 x 20¢ New South Wales 1 x 20¢ Tasmania 1 x 20¢ Norfolk Island 1 x 20¢ Victoria 1 x 20¢ South Australia 1 x 20¢ Platypus Standard Issue 1 x 20¢ Donald Bradman
1 x 10¢ Standard Issue
1 x 5¢ Standard Issue
Hint No 1: The coins started their journey on one continent, travelled to another continent & finally arrived in Australia.
Watch this space for extra hints. Hint No 2. The closest so far is DL20K with 22318.
Hint No 3. The coins began their journey in Nth America, travelled to ******* & finally made it to Australia.
Hint No 4. So far there are 9 guessers that are within the right thousand range, eg 19000 - 20000 (that's just an example not the range in question). Hint No 5. The NEAREST so far has gone 69 over so that guess doesn't qualify, but the nearest WITHOUT going over is only 73 off. life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved
