It's a token that comes in mint sets.

That is the filler coin in uncirculated mint sets after the SBA went out of production.

What they said. Here's an example set on ebay showing that medal still in the packaging: 133216445456

Most fellas might think that it has little value. I would be glad to find one in circulation since I don't think there would be that many out there.

There were actually two types of these packed with mint sets. The most common, small branch tokens (one for Philadelphia, one for Denver) which you have and a larger variety, souvenir sets, available only from the specific mint it represents These are about the size of a half dollar. Not sure what year they stopped issuing the latter, if at all, but those in the mid-nineties are pricey.

I have been saving the tokens, even the plastic ones and placing them in the cardboard coin holders. I'm not actively collecting them, but if I open a mint set that has one then it gets put in the holder.

Ironic that the token says "uncirculated" at this point. LOL

I actually bought a bag of these still individually in their plastic they come in. I can't remember how many I bought (I know it was 100+) but it was a pretty even mix of P and D for only like $8 or something. Super cool having a small pile of these for a low cost.
