I found this one while CRH. Looks like a clipped planchette to me.

Looks odd to me and no Blakesley effect.

Hmmm...I thought the slight misshape opposite the clip was the Blakesley effect, but maybe not. If it is not a true clip, I definitely want to know.

I'm gonna say it's a true clip. The Blakesley is there, it's just not as strong as some that I've seen. The actual clip looks right.

What's the weight of the coin? You can figure out the percentage of metal that's missing.

chrisof4 I'm posting my quarter to compare the look of the clips. I don't want to steal your topic. If you want me to remove my picture, please let me know. I can edit my reply for 24 hours.

It shows the expected tapered rims leading into the clip for a legit example. Blakesley Effect isn't always 100% and this is a fairly large coin with a small clip.

I think it's the real deal.

No worries on your pictures, Yokozuna. I appreciate the input. I will get some pictures of the side of the coin tomorrow and add them to this thread. Thank you to everyone else for the input as well!

Its there. Just follow the rim around and you can see where is happens on the OP's coin. The shape of the rim changes.
