Hello everyone. I was going through some 2006 p cents looking for DDO's and varieties when I came across this. I remembered wexlers had a listing for wddo-034 as a doubling of the earlobe. I thought this might have been it but the listing on their site shows the doubling more northwest compared to my coin. I tried to press on the area with a tooothpick thinking it might just be a bubble but it is solid. What do you all think? Die gouge? A possible different variety? Thanks.

2006 DDO-004:

Wexler 2006 WDDO-034

All match each other. But your coin is a normal one. Not a DDO.

On a doubled die, all the hub doubling needs to be present. (Excluding die wear on class 2 doubled dies) the area below the ear and the beard on this one needs to be there. I even check for a minimum of three die markers to confirm a die state for a variety. (Sometimes checking other coins for existing/or partially missing die scratches, before confirming a variety with certainty)
