Hello, I am new to this forum.
I recently found 2 1943 steel pennies that I had laying around and noticed that they both were different in color (very noticeable)
Does this mean anything?
Also, the 2nd coin to the right looks like it may have a bit of doubling.
Thanks in advance!

The coin on the left is normal the one on the right was reprocessed meaning replated ( not by the mint ) to look new . Most times they used circulated 43's for this, that's why the crappy look to it . The replated coin has no numismatic value , while the original is worth about $1.

Thank you for the reply,
The one to the right (the platted one) will it be worth getting graded if there is doubling shown on the "IN GOD WE TRUST"?
Is there any value to it?
Thanks again

I'm with Coinfrog On my monitor I am seeing the same Greek coins that you posted in your other posting. Did you rename the 43 cents when you downloaded the pictures?

Also, will this be considered doubling? I tried my best to get clear photos. This is photos of the 2nd penny (the one @T-Bop says its been replated) I am not sure if the look of doubling has to do with the penny being replated

look at the examples of Machine Doubling. But again, its been electroplated a second time to make it appealing to sell -- that could add a doubled effect as well, possibly, its hard to say. The replating makes it near worthless -- its best use now is to give to a kid to stimulate a desire to collect/ coin roll hunt/change hunt. I am no expert on this: I just got burned on my best set of them being replated too...

I don't know how being plated would be responsible for doubling. I can't see doubling in the small photos. The unplated one has more value than the plated one because the unplated cent hasn't been ruined. There is history behind these steel cents. Build a collection or give them to someone who might. to the CCF!

Hello, Thank you for the response. Here is a better photo of the doubling I see on my end. I may be wrong.
