Hey, Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for taking a sec to read my post...

While I'm rather sharp on Morgans, I have little experience with grading Peace dollars. I was wondering if this would a contender as a GRADABLE PO 01. As I know the rules for them can be strict, looking for others opinions.

Mine main thoughts (being that of little experience) are that the surfaces are acceptable, clean, and without too much damage to hold it back from grading.

My main concerns which may or may not be warranted are,

1. If the wear is enough on the date to make it a P 1 rather than an F 2. Mint mark factors.

I also use NGC if that helps.

Thanks ahead of time for any input.

Matt

Pocket piece most likely.
I'd go FR2 on that one.

Stains. Not stab marks. I had to double check as well lol

Really close call with this one. To grade, both date and mint mark need to be identifiable. Is this a 1925 or a 1925-S?

I think there is a bump near the mint mark location, but I'm not sure the bump is a mint mark. Since there was only one branch mint coin in 1925, if the bump is a mint mark, it should grade.

Judging without any bias, I cant definitively say I see a mint mark. Which would be my largest concern of it being unable to grade. I got an offer of $45 on it so I think ill let it go since it too close to call. Thanks for all your opinions!

I think I can see the MM as well! I'll say PO-01.

I'm not sure if I can see a faint S or if it's just a trick of the light. I estimate (low) FR-2 either way.

Here's my 1923-S example (high FR-2, I think) showing what a faint S looks like in slightly higher grade...

(I pre-emptively apologize for distracting the thread, and can delete my example if you want.)
