Question On A 1897-O With Possible Clashed Die

Fordslowsdime New Member United States 9 Posts	Posted 11/28/2019 11:48 am Hello first off I just started coin collecting 6 months ago and have been learning as much as possible when it comes identifying VAMs or errors etc . I use the VAM website but couldn't find anything close to what I'm seeing on my coin . I can see what appears to be light marks of a clashed die . I have yet to actually see a clashed die morgan in person so maybe I'm just being hopeful. Sorry if the pictures are not the best Report this Post to the Staff

dave700x Rest in Peace United States 10625 Posts	Posted 11/28/2019 3:42 pm It is the remnants of a die clash event. Your coin looks like a normal date position with the mint mark set high and possibly left of center. Compare to VAM-5 and VAM-5A (any sign of the die crack off the E in ONE?)
