Never encountered one of these before so not sure if it's normal-ish or something worthy of note. Anyone have any information on a supersized left EPU dot on 1941 Wheat cent? It is strikingly large.

I'll put out a hypothesis.

It has to be a die issue so let's consider it based on that assumption. My hypothesis is that during the final hubbing where the working hub hubbed with the working die there may have been insufficient ram pressure to make a complete crisp hubbing on the working die. So instead of a crisp smaller dot that due to the insufficient pressure it may have simply made a large, wider dent. Keep in mind the working hub is in positive relief so that the working die is in negative relief. Though if this was true I would expect deformation of other devices. Just a thought.

Can't say as I've ever encountered one before. Kind of odd.

The dot is so well-formed that I have a hard time believing it is a hubbing issue. Just looks like it was honestly done that way but there should be tons of them out there if the master die made it like that. It really stands out and can't be missed by anyone checking dots for DDRs, so just can't figure out why it's not a thing people have heard of. If it's some rare thing, kinda tough to figure out how it would happen. A cap over the dot on the master die?

It's obvious it's much larger than the other. What caused it good luck. Notice the bottom stems on your wheats many times I've noticed one will look much larger than the other one I just figured it was nothing but I do see what u see.

How about crud getting stuck to the edge of the dot on the working hub for only one working die?
Or chipping from a brittle die as it looks like there might be a lite circular anomaly around part of the perimeter of the dot?

Good thought but this variying degree of thickness on the stems is an effect of the class 6 doubling (Obv & Rev) which affects some or all of the devices, towards the perimeter of the die. Sometimes it is stronger on the left side, right side or equally on both sides.
