@GAG.first welcome to CCF. Second, yes you were successful in uploading a pic of this cent. It looks to me like glue or even chewing gum is stuck on the back. Can you please poke at it with a wooden toothpick and see if it starts to come off?

What you've got is a piece of Gunk, could be anything that was stuck in between two coin and it is remaining after separation. It'll probably dissolve in either Hot water or Acetone, but it won't even be worth the time trying but it'll be a good experiment.

These pop up from time to time. It was stuck to another cent. It's just glue. It should flake off. To test this without damaging the coin, use a wooden toothpick. You can also soak it in acetone, that might take it off.

It's just not possible for that to be solid copper. The fiber near the U says it all.
